The Central Texas Golf Association (CTGA) is a non-profit, member-supported organization open to all male and female amateur golf enthusiasts in the greater Austin, Texas area.
CTGA annual dues for 2003 are $45.00. Membership dues are prorated to $25.00 after July 1st. Dues are payable at the first participating CTGA tournament of the year unless special arrangements are made with the CTGA Finance Director.
The time, course, fees and prizes shall be the responsibility of the CTGA Directors. CTGA Directors will provide tournament schedules and league information to all members. If the course limits the number of players, participation will be on a first-call-in basis.
CTGA welcomes guests of all active members to play in any CTGA scheduled tournament. All guests shall understand and accept the eligibility and limitation guidelines to compete in CTGA player pools as specified within these CTGA By-Laws, including:
* Course fees and cart fees (if applicable);
* New Member/Guest Flight competition fee, if applicable;
* Close-To-Pin competition fee $3.00 (if there is no New Member/Guest Flight)
* (Optional) Skins competition ($5.00)
Winner of guest player pools will be determined using the Callaway Scoring System.
The annual CTGA Classic is open to all CTGA members and their guests. To compete in the CTGA Flighted Medal Play competition, members must have played in a minimum of eight (8) 2003 CTGA tournaments, of which four must be played after May 31st. 2002 Classic participation counts toward 2003 tournaments played. CTGA guests will compete in the Guest Medal Play Flight, Close-To-Pin and the optional Skins competition.
A dinner and general meeting will be held at the conclusion of Saturday's Classic round to discuss and vote on policy and procedure improvements and to elect new Board of Directors for the following year.
CTGA handicaps will be established and maintained for each member by the CTGA Tournament Director, using Software Systems Handicap Manager (HM), which conforms to USGA Handicap Standards. Handicaps will be calculated based on the best five (5) of the last ten (10) posted CTGA tournament scores. CTGA handicaps with less than ten posted scores will be awarded as follows:
* Best 1 of 3 scores;
* Best 2 of 4 or 5 scores;
* Best 3 of 6 or 7 scores;
* Best 4 of 8 or 9 scores;
All active member handicaps will be carried over to the following year.
