Modifying or Editing the Navigation Menu

Your Navigation Menu is on the left side of the page. It consists of Menu Items to click that take users to the page on which the Menu Item is linked. You can perform a number of actions on the navigation menu items. Below you see the same menu in Website Designer and Internet Explorer.

Note: Those items marked "Hide menu item" are highlighted in yellow when you are in Website Designer.

Menu Item actions:

This is how you perform the actions:

  1. While a Menu Item is selected/highlighted (in gray), move it up or down on the navigation menu, if you wish, by selecting up or down from the Menu menu.

  2. While the Menu Item is selected/highlighted (in gray), you may also choose to take it off the navigation menu by selecting "Remove menu item (Delete)" from the Menu menu. This action removes or deletes the Menu Item from the menu only and does not delete the web page file permanently. You still have access to the removed web page file from the Pages tab in the appropriate folder.

  3. While the Menu Item is selected/highlighted (in gray), you may also edit the Menu Item text by selecting "Rename menu item (Edit)" from the Menu menu.

  4. While the Menu Item is selected/highlighted (in gray), you may choose to Show or Hide the Menu Item on your Published Website. Those that you mark "Hide" will be highlighted in yellow while you are in Website Designer.

Tip: You can perform all the above functions by clicking on the Menu Item with the right (not left) mouse button. A menu will pop up from which you can perform any of the above actions.
