Menu List Page Type

Purpose of Menu List Page Type

The purpose of the Menu List page type is to create a listing of web pages which are not displayed on the navigation menu. The Menu List page is an "extension" of the navigation menu. The Menu List page acts as an index or table of contents for a specific section (such as event results) of your website.

Capabilities of the Menu List Page Type

This page type is very limited in its capabilities, yet is very useful in one respect: creating a linked list of web pages on your website which are related to one another. An example would be a linked list of event results. Each link on the list takes a visitor to a specific event's results.

There are six page elements you can add to a Menu List page.

Create a Menu List Page

  1. From within Website Designer, make sure you have the "Menu" tab selected (rather than the Pages tab).

  1. From the Menu menu select "Insert menu item (New)"

  2. Select the "Blank - Menu List page" by doubleclicking on it or highlighting/selecting (click once with left mouse button) it and clicking on the Insert button.

  3. Enter information into "Page Information" window and click OK button.

  4. Your new Menu List page is now on the navigation menu. While it is selected/highlighted (in gray), move it up or down on the navigation menu, if you wish, by selecting up or down from the Menu menu.

  5. To add a link to your Menu List page, click on the "CLICK me to insert link to another page" button. A new link will be added at the very top. You can arrange the link using the up or down arrows to the left. You can add or edit text in any of the elements by clicking in that element (Page Title, Sub Title, etc.).

  6. In the "Insert Menu Item" window, select an Existing page or other blank page.

  7. Enter information into "Page Information" window and click OK button. Repeat for additional links.

  8. Within Website Designer with the Menu tab selected, you will see a Menu List page with its links underneath it as shown below. You will see a "+" or "-" symbol left of any Menu List pages while on the Menu tab. Your actual web page will not have these symbols.

  9. You may finish with a Menu List web page looking like the image below...
