Link Page Type

Purpose of Link Page Type

The purpose of the Link page type is to create a navigation menu label that redirects users to a specific web page on any website. The page is primarily recommended for linking to a web page on a website other than your own. For instance, you may want a navigation menu label that takes people to the GolfSoftware.com website. The Link page type lets you do this.

Capabilities of the Link Page Type

The Link page type has one capability and that is to place a link on the navigation menu that takes people to a specific web page, especially of another website.

Note: When people click on the navigation menu item created using the Link page type, users are taken directly to the linked web page. Clicking on the navigation menu item does not take you to the Link page you created.

Create a Link Page

  1. From within Website Designer, make sure you have the "Menu" tab selected (rather than the Pages tab).

  1. From the Menu menu select "Insert menu item (New)"

  2. Select the "Blank - Link Page" by doubleclicking on it or highlighting/selecting (click once with left mouse button) it and clicking on the Insert button.

  3. Enter information into "Page Information" window and click OK button.

  4. Your new Link page is now on the navigation menu. Click on the "Change the page or internet address to hyperlink to" button.

  5. Fill in the "Text to display:" and the "Web Address:" for the web page to which you wish to link. In the image below, the Link page Menu Item will take visitors to the USGA.org. Click OK.

  6. You have the option of showing the linked page within your own website ["Browser's window on the right (keep menu on the left)"], in full screen on your website ["Browser's full window (NO menu on the left)"], or in new separate browser window ["NEW browser window (keep current window)"].
