Cannot Publish Website

Question: Why can't I publish my website? I get an error message.
Answer:
Security Software is blocking internet access
1. firewall in...
a. operating system
b. stand alone software
c. router (try connecting directly to your modem, by-passing your router)
d. network
e. etc.
2. anti-spyware software
3. anti-adware software
4. anti-virus software (one customer disabled the outgoing email scan in Kaspersky AntiVirus software)
5. browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc.) toolbars that include one or more of 1~3
6. other
Does any one of these items exist for your computer?
You may have your FIREWALL program set up to BLOCK any attempt by Website Designer to upload files to the internet. Set the firewall to allow this program internet access. The program file name is BUILDWEB.EXE. Unfortunately we cannot give step by step instructions here because all firewall programs are so different. You may wish to temporarily turn off the firewall to make sure this is not the problem.

If this is a new problem after installing 2007 version(s) of our software, you might try reinstalling. During the install, when prompted about allowing, click on the option for allowing.
If this does not work...
You may have installed an Adware/Spyware blocking software that thinks our program is trying a "malicious" upload of files. Most likely this is the problem. Uninstall this adware/spyware program or set it to allow Website designer to allow file uploads to the internet.
Something is not allowing Website Designer (BuildWeb.exe) to publish. This issue is caused by one or more of the following:

Tip: Some customers have "fixed" their firewall or other security software problem by making sure they have all the updates and patches installed for their particular software. |
