How do I Maintain Local and Web data?

You can synchronize the “web” data (changes on the internet) with the “local” data (changes on your computer) at any time.  In other words, any changes you make on your computer and any changes your members make on the web are merged (synchronized) together.

  1. Click the Internet menu and select Website Entry (Synchronize ‘Web’ data with ‘Local’ data).

  2. Click the Synchronize ‘Web’ data with ‘Local’ data button.
Note: If you would like to calculate new handicaps when you synchronize, make sure this option is checked.

Important! Remember, any changes you make on your local computer are not updated to the web until you “synchronize”.  How often you synchronize is up to you.  In most cases, you will probably want to synchronize when a new handicap revision is required.

Troubleshooting:

  • Question: Once I’m logged on the website it doesn’t give me the option to “edit” my scores or information. Why can’t I edit my scores or personal information?

Answer: You have restricted members to only view information. Run the Handicap System. Click the Internet menu and select Website Entry. Click Setup Options 2 tab. Make sure box only let golfers VIEW scores and info is not checked. To place this change on the web, click the Synchronize tab. Then click the button Synchronize ‘web’ data with ‘local’ data. You can now edit your scores and information on the web.

  • Question:  I keep getting the error message “you have entered an incorrect GSID on the website”.  I know my GSID is correct.  Why am I getting this error message?

Answer: You have not been given web access in Handicap System. Run Handicap System. Double click your name on the roster. Select Website/Internet tab.  Make sure Allow golfer website access is checked. Click OK to close the form. To place this change on the web, click the Internet menu and select Website Entry. Click the button Synchronize ‘web’ data with ‘Local’ data.
